CARA holds 2-Day Free Clinic at World Pet Expo 2026

CARA Welfare Philippines brought its volunteer veterinarians to World Pet Expo 2026, held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila. For two days, CARA offered a place where fur parents could ask a vet for advice while availing of the clinic’s discounted rates for any follow up procedures and consultations.

Mica Silverio also took the stage to talk about responsible pet ownership, reminding fur parents that caring for an animal means a lifelong commitment to its health, safety, and well-being. The talk also explained the role of CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) in managing community cats. Instead of removing cats from an area, CNVR humanely catches them, has them spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and returns them to their colony. Over time, this keeps populations stable and healthier, cuts down on nuisance behaviors, and reduces the number of kittens born onto the streets.

For many in the audience, it was a fresh look at how communities can live alongside the cats in their neighborhoods.

CARA’s newest volunteer doctor, Doc Keith, shares his thoughts.

For Doc Keith, volunteering with CARA is a way to keep doing the work that matters most.

"Being a volunteer veterinarian with CARA has been a truly fulfilling experience. Providing free consultations to fur parents gives me the opportunity to continue doing what has always been close to my heart, caring for animals and helping the people who love them."

Even after many years in practice, Doc Keith says putting that knowledge to use for animals still brings a real sense of purpose. The most rewarding part is helping fur parents understand their companions better.

"It is especially rewarding knowing that, in my own small way, I can help fur parents better understand and care for their beloved companions."

Doc Keith also credits the fellow volunteers who share that same passion.

"There is something very inspiring about being part of a community united by a common goal, which is to make life better for animals and the people who care for them."

Tiktok’s rising vet star and CARA's Senior Vet Doc Deng also talks about her 1-day free clinic at WPE.

This was Doc Deng's first World Pet Expo, and the crowd made an immediate impression.

"From the overwhelming attendance alone, it is undeniable that nowadays, people treat their pets as family. As we should!"

One of the memorable moments she noted included seeing the aspins and puspins who showed up dressed up and pampered, getting the attention they have always deserved. For Doc Deng, that is exactly why working with CARA matters.

"This is also why I love working for and with CARA because we get to put the spotlight on the country's precious aspins and puspins that are often neglected."

Doc Deng is already looking ahead, hoping CARA gets more chances like this to promote animal welfare and introduce its adoptables to new families.

What's next

If you met us at the expo and received a consultation slip from Doc Keith and Doc Deng, please visit the CARA Clinic whenever you can! Availing of our discounted services help us fund our activities and the recovering animals in our care.

• Adopt. Meet our aspins and puspins on the pets for adoption page, or start the process through Adopt-A-Pet.

• Sponsor. Cover a shelter animal's food, vaccinations, medical care, and spay or neuter while it waits for a home.

• Donate. CARA runs on private donations alone, so every gift helps keep the clinic, shelter, and adoption program going.

Thank you to World Pet Expo for having us, to Doc Keith and Doc Deng for their time and care, and to every fur parent who stopped by!
