Adopt a CARA Rescue

Every rescued animal deserves a second chance at life, and a loving home to call their own. When you adopt from CARA, you’re not just gaining a companion. You’re saving a life, supporting animal rescue efforts, and making room for us to help even more animals in need.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 “𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁, 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽” 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸

It sounds simple, but it carries weight. This isn’t just about where you get a pet, it’s about what your choice supports.

One creates demand, one saves a life.

One is chosen for looks, one is chosen for love.

One is a transaction, one is a second chance.

One is easy, one is meaningful.

And somewhere in between those choices is an animal still waiting to be seen. Same love, different impact.

Why adopt from CARA?

While CARA is not a shelter, we continue to rehabilitate, and care for these previously rescued abandoned and mistreated cats and dogs until they are ready for loving forever homes.

Adopting from CARA means:

You save more than one life. By adopting from CARA, you "free up" space and resources for another rescue who may be in need.

CARA’s rescues are all spayed/neutered and given the necessary vaccinations prior to being endorsed to a new home. Likewise, they are socialized to interact with humans and other dogs/cats, and are trained to stay indoors as well.

A minimal adoption fee (₱1,000 for cats, ₱1,500 for dogs) goes directly toward the continued care of our existing rescues, especially those with special needs.

Adopt, don't shop. Help fight animal homelessness. Adoption helps address the growing number of abandoned and stray animals and reduces the demand for irresponsible breeding.

CARA Adoption Policies

Adoption Policy for Cats

1) Cats adopted from CARA must be kept indoors. Doors/gates leading outside should be kept closed and windows must be fitted with fly screens to prevent the cat going outside. In specific cases, cats may be approved to go to an indoor/outdoor home.

2) Cats should be provided with a litter box (cleaned daily).

3) Cats must not be declawed for any reason. This is considered animal cruelty.

4) The animal must be provided with fresh water at all times and good quality food twice daily.

5) Veterinary treatment must be provided when necessary for the continued health and well-being of the animal.

6) Vaccines should be kept up-to-date yearly.

7) CARA’s animals, if over 6 months of age, are spayed/neutered before adoption. If the chosen pet is under 6 months of age, therefore not yet neutered, an advanced payment should be given to CARA for the operation. The animal has to be brought to the CARA clinic to the prearranged appointment for neutering.

8) If for whatever reason you cannot keep the adopted animal, you must notify CARA and return the animal to CARA.

9) The adoptive family agrees to give CARA visiting rights to ensure the terms of the adoption agreement are being followed.

10) Failure to follow the agreement will result in the animal being reclaimed by CARA.

11) Cats adopted will be picked up and transported by the adopter to their new home in a carrier approved by CARA.

12) The adoption fee of P1,000.00 is non-refundable.

1) Dogs must be able to roam freely in a fenced or secure area inside the adopter’s house or compound. This can be indoors or outdoors, provided there is adequate shelter.
