Championing a kinder Philippines for every stray.

CARA Welfare Philippines is a volunteer-driven, donation-funded non-profit working toward a Philippines where humans and stray cats and dogs can safely and compassionately coexist.

CARA has advocated for humane, community-based animal welfare for over two decades. It has established itself as a pioneer in building safer communities by making sterilization, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and rehoming services accessible to all Filipinos.

CARA believes that animal welfare is closely tied with human welfare. Safer streets, healthier communities, and more compassionate cities all begin with how we treat the animals we share our spaces with.

When strays suffer, so do the communities around them.

Our Mission

Humane, community-based animal welfare — since the year 2000.

Founded by Ms. Nancy Cu Unjieng and a passionate group of animal lovers, CARA has spent over two decades fostering safer communities by making sterilization, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and rehoming services accessible to all Filipinos.

Core Programs

Low-cost CNVR — Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return
Affordable spay and neuter services for aspins and puspins. We keep our rates low so responsible pet ownership is never a matter of cost.

Rehoming & adoption
We rescue, rehabilitate, and care for strays in critical condition, then connect them with loving, responsible adopters ready to give them a forever home.

Education & awareness
We run CNVR and Responsible Pet Ownership campaigns in schools, private communities, LGUs, and CSR partnerships across the Philippines.

Ways to support

CARA is powered by the generosity of donors, volunteers, and allies. Your support keeps our clinic affordable, feeds the animals in our care, and funds the search for their forever homes.

We are grateful for all the help so that we can carry on the work that we do. Everything that comes into CARA goes back to the medication, care, and housing of the strays in our care and those that we can rescue.

If you wish to support this cause, here's how you can help:
